In my project, I explored the business of creating a currency exchange for STEAM (Gaming Store). My goals included improving coding skills, understanding contract and tax law, and documenting my experiences. The main question driving my project was how to successfully operate a gaming business.
To gather information, I conducted research on tax laws, logistics, accounting, coding, and IT. I utilized online resources such as consumer affairs websites, consulted with accountants from companies like MYOB and H&R Block, and studied relevant case studies. For guidance and advice, I considered potential mentors who could support me in different areas, including IT professionals, coding professors, web developers, accountants, and experts in cryptocurrency.
Throughout the project, I required various materials, including a laptop, folder, notepad, scripting tools, footage equipment, coding IDE, phone, Opal card, and sufficient capital. One of the costs involved was a game hosting fee of $100 USD (approximately 160.89 AUD).
In terms of the project timeline, I planned to settle in and prepare essentials during Week 4. In Week 5, I would begin both my L.T.L. activities and the development of the Steam market bot, aiming to have a working prototype by the week's end. Week 6 would involve finalizing the Steam market bot and initiating work on the exhibition and script. Week 7 would be dedicated to bug testing the bot and incorporating feedback from peers to improve the exhibition and script. In Week 8, I would proceed to host the game on Steam and integrate the Steam market bot into the game. Week 9 would mark a significant milestone of earning the first dollar and finalizing the exhibition and script. Finally, during the Exhibition Week, I would focus on practicing and perfecting my presentation.
